week 2

Uncertainty:

I go back and forth with the idea that you control your life(future) and there is a greater plan outside your control. I like what was said in class about how ideas use us as vehicles to bring them into creation but that they (the ideas)in themselves have their own life. My western mind says it can only be one way, then my expanded mind says why not all ways and anyways at once. I believe (at least for the moment) that there are aspects to life that are uncertain and out of our control but there are also aspects that are very much in our control. If you think of life as though your a twig being carried by an ocean wave, you can't control things but you can be present and enjoy the ride.

Causality:

I believe in cause and effect, but if you view things as all connected then its hard to understand this idea. Like in the example given in class you think of someone then the phone rings, if all things are connected then there is no difference as to which came first. It seems as though there is a cause which creates an effect, it just might be that the cause is not fully understood.

Universe weird:

No I think humans are weird for trying to categorizing everything, but that is also part of our nature. I think the universe is beautiful and has a pattern it just might be bigger then our ability to see or comprehend.

I really like and can relate to what you said about uncertainty. The way you related life to a twig being carried by an ocean wave, not being able to control it but being present to enjoy the moment...
I feel that way quite a bit of the time. There are many times where i feel things are out of my control so I don't worry about them or try to change them...just enjoy my each and every breath.
There are some times when I feel like I can steer that twig in the ocean by leaning this way or saying that thing.
Thanks for the great analogy.

yes, i like the twig in the ocean metaphor too. just relaxing and opening into what is already supporting, holding, guiding and carrying me through this divine experience which is life. ahhhh...
